More Than Skin: What We’re Really Building at Scrubd
At Scrubd Esthetics, we’ve always believed aesthetic care should feel different. Not rushed, transactional, or centered around chasing perfection.
The best aesthetic outcomes happen when people feel comfortable, understood, and genuinely cared for. We’ve known that what patients remember most is rarely just the treatment itself, it’s the feeling they had while they were here.
The conversation during an appointment that went deeper than skincare. The moment someone finally felt confident enough to prioritize themselves again. The sense of relief that comes from walking into a space where you don’t feel judged, pressured, or overlooked.
That has always mattered to us. Because Scrubd was never created to be “just another medspa.” It was built to be a space where clinical expertise and human connection could exist together.
A place where women feel supported, educated, and empowered in the process of caring for themselves.
The Philosophy Behind Scrubd
In aesthetics, it’s easy for the conversation to become surface-level. But for us, aesthetic medicine has always been about something deeper than appearance alone.
Yes, we care about beautiful skin, balanced results, and natural-looking treatments. We care deeply about education, safety, and clinical outcomes. But we also care about how someone feels in our space. The patient experience matters just as much as the treatment plan itself. Thats the Scrubd Standard!
That’s why our approach has always been intentional:
- We believe in slowing down enough to listen.
- We believe confidence is built over time, not manufactured overnight.
- We believe natural results come from thoughtful planning, restraint, and trust between our providers and patients.
That philosophy shapes everything we do, from consultations to treatment plans to the environment we’ve created inside Scrubd.
Community, Care, and Impact Beyond Our Walls
That philosophy doesn’t stop at the treatment room. At Scrubd, we don’t believe care should begin and end with appointments. The same values that shape how we care for our patients also shape how we show up for our community.
Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to work alongside organizations whose missions reflect the kind of impact we believe in: supporting women, families, and future generations through care, structure, mentorship, and restoration.
One of those organizations is Steel City Impact, a youth-centered program in the Greater Pittsburgh area that focuses on mentorship and mind, body, and spirit-based development for young people. We’ve been proud sponsors of their work in the past and continue to support their mission because it aligns so closely with what we believe in: helping the next generation build confidence, direction, and strong support systems early in life.
We’ve also partnered with Sojourner House and Sojourner House MOMS, organizations providing compassionate, faith-based recovery services for mothers and children navigating substance use disorder. Their mission focuses on rebuilding stability, strengthening families, and helping women break intergenerational cycles while remaining connected to what matters most, their children. In the past, we’ve helped collect and donate beauty and self-care products for mothers in need because we believe even small acts of care can help women feel seen, supported, and beautiful during some of the hardest moments of their lives.
These partnerships matter deeply to us because they reflect the kind of care we believe in. Care that:
- Creates stability
- Restores confidence
- Reminds people they don’t have to navigate difficult seasons alone
Whether it’s mentorship for the next generation or support for mothers rebuilding their lives, these organizations are doing meaningful work that aligns closely with the heart behind our brand. Care. Confidence. Restoration. Human connection.
That is the kind of impact we want Scrubd to have, both inside our spa and beyond them.
A Month That Reflected Our Mission
This May felt like a reflection of everything we value most.
Mother’s Day reminded us how often women are the ones carrying everything for everyone else. It gave us a chance to celebrate the women who nurture, support, lead, and give so much of themselves every single day to their children.
Nurses Week carried an even more personal meaning for our team. Scrubd was built by nurses, led by nurses, and deeply shaped by the compassion and resilience that nursing requires. This month, we had the opportunity to celebrate caregivers in several meaningful ways, including our Nurses Week giveaway basket, curated to help nurses rest, reset, and feel cared for the way they spend their lives caring for others. We also joined the Nurses Week celebration at AHN Wexford alongside other local businesses, where we connected with nurses, shared skincare samples, invited them to spin our prize wheel for giveaways, and spent time simply celebrating and appreciating the people who give so much of themselves every day. It was a reminder that what we’re building has always been about more than treatments, it’s about showing up for people and creating moments of care that extend beyond our walls.
Throughout the month, there was one theme we kept coming back to was women supporting women. Not just online. But intentionally, consistently, and in ways that create real connection.
Scrubd at the Table
That same intention is what inspired Scrubd at the Table: A Bible & Brunch Summer Series. Not simply as an event series, but as an opportunity for: deeper connection, meaningful conversation, and spaces that feel intentional in a world that constantly asks us to move faster.
Scrubd at the Table is a four-part Bible & brunch series created to bring women together through faith, conversation, and community. We’ll explore conversations surrounding topics that shape the way we move through life as women, not just aesthetically, but personally and spiritually too.
Each event will explore themes of womanhood and who God calls us to be including:
- Beauty & wellness
- Fitness & discipline
- Financial stewardship
- Faith & family
The heart behind the series is simple: to create a space where women can connect honestly, reflect deeply, and grow together in faith. A place where conversation moves beyond surface-level updates and curated versions of ourselves. Where women can sit at the table exactly as they are, surrounded by encouragement, shared experiences, and intentional community.
Our first gathering on May 23rd was designed with that feeling in mind, from the curated brunch spread and seasonal mocktails, to the faith-based message, and hands-on Bible charm making experience. Every detail was created to feel warm, personal, and grounded in connection.
And while the first event has already passed, this is only the beginning. We’re incredibly excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to share the next gathering with you soon.
What We’re Really Building
At the end of the day, what we’re building at Scrubd is about far more than treatments or results alone. Yes, we care deeply about skin health, education, and beautiful outcomes. That standard will always remain at the center of our work.
But we also care about creating an experience that feels grounding, empowering, and human. Rooted in community and connection.
This is more than skincare.
This is Scrubd.
And we’re just getting started.
